Biography

Liam Oulton is a bassist, music educator, and producer based in the Boston area. He began playing music at a young age as a way to cope with health challenges, eventually pursuing a degree in professional music at Berklee College of Music.

Known for his versatility and feel, Liam is an in-demand bassist specializing in rock, pop, jam bands, and indie music. His playing combines strong groove, melodic instinct, and a deep sense of dynamics, supporting each song while adding character and movement where it matters. He has shared the stage with Jay Faires (Jerry Tone Store), David Rubin (Diamond Blues, Daydream), Shallow Pools, Sunset Mission, and members of Morphine and Bearly Dead.

Liam is also the founder, songwriter, and producer of Munde, an experimental jam rock band that blends psychedelic, progressive, and electronic music. In Fall 2026, he will release a full-length album under his own name, marking a significant milestone in his experimentation as a music producer and songwriter.

As an educator, Liam’s teaching is rooted in empathy, exploration, and self-expression. Influenced by mentors like Victor Wooten, Mike Woods (Damone), Kevin Barry (Jackson Browne, J. Geils Band), and Daniel Morris, he encourages students to unlock their creativity and develop their unique musical voice.
